Meet the Owner: Ken Devonshire of Changes Hair Salon

04 September 2024

Ken Devonshire, owner of Changes Hair Salon in West Ealing, has been a cornerstone of West Ealing. He is both a celebrated hairdresser and a passionate community leader. Raised in Ealing, Ken’s journey began in 1977 when he started his career in hairdressing, where he excelled, becoming the youngest teacher at Wella’s London School by age 20.

During his career, Ken worked alongside the most renowned figures including Vidal Sassoon, Trevor Sorbie, and Daniel Galvin. His career took him across Europe, showcasing his skills at high-profile events. But despite the glamour and travel, Ken’s heart always remained in West Ealing, the place he called home since he was two.

In his thirties, Ken founded Changes Hair Salon on Leeland Road, a space that allowed him to bring his unique vision to life. After many successful years at that location, Ken relocated the salon to its current address on The Avenue. This move provided an opportunity to enhance the salon’s distinctive character further, incorporating his personal collection of antiques and artwork into the new space. The relocation marked a new chapter for the salon and allowed Ken to continue providing exceptional service in a beautifully curated environment.

But Ken’s commitment to West Ealing goes beyond his business. As the Chairman of the West Ealing BID, he plays a crucial role in advocating for the area’s development. His efforts help keep the community thriving and ensure it continues flourishing.
